Biggest eCommerce trends in 5 years

I’m going to discuss some eCommerce trends with you that are likely to completely change the eCommerce landscape in the next 5 years. eCommerce has been constantly evolving, and the changes we’ve seen in the last few years are nothing compared to what’s coming. So, without further ado, here are the biggest eCommerce trends to watch out for in the next five years:

Biggest eCommerce trends in 5 years

Is the rise of mobile commerce an eCommerce trend?

eCommerce trend: Mobile commerce will continue to play an important role in the future. eCommerce is a growing trend, and mobile commerce is becoming an increasingly important part of it. It is estimated that by 2021, eCommerce will account for 22% of all retail sales worldwide. Mobile commerce accounted for $204 billion in 2016 and is expected to grow to $626 billion by 2020. This rapid growth is due to the increasing number of people who are using their smartphones to shop online. In fact, 61% of mobile phone users said they had used their phones to make a purchase in the past 12 months.

Mobile commerce will become even more important than it already is, in the next 5 to ten years. eCommerce businesses need to start focusing on mobile-first strategies now, in order to stay ahead of the competition. Mobile commerce provides many benefits for businesses, including increased sales, higher conversion rates and improved customer engagement.

So what does this mean for webshops?

In order to stay ahead of the competition, eCommerce businesses need to focus on mobile-first strategies. This means that they should design their websites and apps with mobile users in mind. They should also make sure that their transactions are secure and easy to use on a mobile device.

Mobile commerce is still in its early stages, but it is clear that it will continue to grow in the future. eCommerce businesses need to focus on mobile-first strategies in order to stay ahead of the competition and take advantage of this growing trend.

The death of the brick-and-mortar store

eCommerce trend: Personally, I don’t think the brick shop will disappear. There will always be brick shops. But what will these look like in the future?

eCommerce and mobile commerce are both huge and growing. I think the brick shop of the future will be more like a showroom. You’ll go in, try on/test out what you want, then have it delivered to your home. That’s more sustainable too- less packaging, less shipping. What do you think? Is the brick-and-mortar store dead or just evolving?

I think eCommerce is huge and mobile commerce is even bigger. In my opinion, the brick-and-mortar store is not dead but evolving.

The brick shops will have to change, they will have to go with the violence of the super fast delivery services like Gorillas, Flink, Getir.

I do not want to enter a shop, test a product and then wait a week for it to be delivered. I want it now and if possible in the next hour. The brick and mortar stores probably have to work together with these super fast delivery guys.

The growth of social commerce

Social commerce will also create new opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses. The growth of social commerce is inevitable, and it will change the way we do business forever. Artificial intelligence will play a big role in this change. eCommerce companies will use artificial intelligence to personalize the shopping experience for each customer. eCommerce with PWA

eCommerce trends: A progressive web app (PWA) is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is intended to work on any platform that uses a standards-compliant browser, including both desktop and mobile devices.

There are many benefits of using PWAs including:

– Increased engagement: PWAs can help increase engagement with your content or eCommerce store by providing users with an immersive and app-like experience.

– Improved performance: PWAs are often much faster and more responsive than traditional web pages, making them a great choice for eCommerce stores or other sites where speed is important.

– Offline functionality: One of the most powerful features of PWAs is their ability to work offline or in low-quality network conditions. This means that users can still access your content or eCommerce store even if they have a poor internet connection.

– Easy to install: Unlike native apps, PWAs don’t need to be downloaded from an app store. They can be installed directly from the web onto a user’s device.

If you’re thinking about using PWAs for your eCommerce store, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, PWAs are still a relatively new technology, so there are a few browser compatibility issues to consider. Second, PWAs can’t access some of the native features of devices (like the camera or push notifications), so you’ll need to find workarounds for these if you want to use them.

Overall, though, PWAs are a great option for eCommerce stores looking to improve their performance and engagement. If you’re thinking about using them for your store, be sure to keep these considerations in mind.
